In the post-pandemic era, most associations are seeing a shift in member needs around event experiences. Chances are you are confronting increasing demand for:
- Virtual, hybrid AND on-demand experiences.
- Smaller, more purpose-driven events in addition to the big annual meeting.
- Meaningful ways to keep members engaged 365 days of the year.
And all this on tighter budgets, with fewer staff and expensive technologies. But what if you could meet all these needs — redesigning and serving up an exciting new virtual event menu — with all the ingredients and recipes you need in one place?
I am excited to announce Matchbox’s new monthly subscription, which is designed to let you do just that. Now you can create as many deep and meaningful virtual experiences as you’d like on our new all-in-one self-service platform PLUS access to the tools, processes and people that offer incredible support. Let me break down how it all works:
Tools:
Our new self-service platform has turned the best practices we’ve developed from hundreds of associations’ experiences into intuitive templates. You can think of each template as 50 default decisions for any given experience type, each one easily tailored to your specific needs. Think education conferences, new member orientation events, employee team building, problem solving events, on-demand content libraries, cohort based learning…Our tool will expand your definition of “events” and open up new possibilities.
If you’re interested in a visual, here’s a video we created for our clients that shows what the new tool is about:
These tools matter because they automate many of the most time consuming processes, offer an expanding list of ways to leverage the virtual, and allow us to make our offering more financially accessible to a wider range of organizations.
Processes:
Technology allows you to create virtual experiences, but just as important is how that technology is used. The Matchbox ‘Kitchen’ — a collection of recipes based on effective virtual experiences we’ve delivered over the years — is included in your subscription. The recipes tell you how to execute and market different virtual experiences for the best outcomes. Beyond recipes, you’ll find best practice guides, communication plans, project plans, and more.
People:
The monthly subscription also gives you unlimited access to our newly launched knowledge community — with live and asynchronous opportunities to connect with fellow experience designers and event planners who are also engaging with our tools and processes. No need to go it alone or reinvent the wheel. Time and again we’ve seen how powerful the collective brain is in addressing common challenges. So the knowledge community is your first stop — whether you’re seeking practical solutions to problems, trying to create or troubleshoot new experiences, or looking for thought partners to share ideas with. In short, it’s an expanded support ecosystem to help you launch your great ideas.
Matchbox will continue to offer the add-on services that we know help to round out needs, including video production and live event support. However, even if you’re taking a fully independent DIY approach, our client success team will be there as your guide through the tools, processes, and people whenever you need them.
The new model is open only to current Matchbox clients for a few months before we open it up to the wider community.
